Passion Pit

Passion Pit are a relatively new band, but fast becoming well known for their catchy songs, which have been well-played over the Radio, on TV and for Adverts/Commercials.

I was asked to come up with a Lighting Design that gave impact, and to enhance their live show visually. The lighting has been well complimented by the band, management and record label.

Technology:

For the London Show at Koko, I was lucky to have some budget for a floor package.

Koko's house rig consists of a box truss with:
04 x Robe Wash 575's
08 x Robe Spot 575's
and loads of Parcans

I added, as an extras package:
02 x 2M Truss Circle
02 x 2.5M Truss Circle
08 x Coemar Spot 250's
04 x Martin Mac 250 Kryptons
12 x 2-Lite Molefay
03 x 4-Lite Molefay (with Scrollers)
04 x LED Parcans
24 x Par 36 ACL's

All of this was ran from my own personal Road Hog, and pre-programmed in my newly purchased ESP Vision system.

I started working for Passion Pit over the summer of 2009. Passion Pit comes really from the work I did at Glastonbury, I literally made a call to see if a truck had delivered equipment back to a rental company - and was asked by chance if I was doing anything that evening, and if I could LD Passion Pit's show at Heavan.

I was highly complimented by the band, and Record Company Columbia, lead singer Michael Angelakos saw me after the show describing the lighting "stunning and amazing".

Following on from the summer, I continued to provide Lighting Design Services for Passion Pit during their October dates, and was once again complimented by the band and their management.
