Who is Neil?
Neil Scrivener is a Lighting/Production Designer based just outside London, UK, working within the Music/Touring and Events industries.

Gaining the majority of his work from recommendations, Neil is internationally requested and renowned for his work, which sees him visiting Europe, America, Australia, Asia, Africa, and further afield for work on a regular basis.

Best known for his out-of-the-box thinking, original ideas, and ability to work with tight budgets, Neil's reputation continues to grow for his abilities to achieve stunning results. Neil has started to gain status as an innovator of the Production world, utilising technology at his fingertips to devise unique uses of equipment that have never been achieved before, and to offer unique innovative approaches to Show and Production Design.

Neil's naturally relaxed can-do charismatic approach with artists leads his work to be thoroughly artist-driven, giving the artist or band as much input into the design process as possible. It is Neil's preference to ensure Artists or Bands are kept within 'the loop' of the Design Process, and can offer as much direction and input into their personal visions as possible. Neil's approach in this manor has seen him form friendships on a personal/social level with many of the artists and bands he has worked with.

Wide experiences, vast technical knowledge and world-class equipment rental partners with skilled crew see creative and original concepts turn into reality. Utilising long-standing relationships held with rental companies/suppliers over a number of years allow cutting edge equipment to be demonstrated, for decision making and general peace of mind.

History
Neil's career originates from the Corporate Events sector, where he quickly learned good people skills, as well as being able to deal with budgets of all sizes and a variety of deadlines - but still be able to effectively produce fantastic end results for the client. Moving out into the Private Events world saw Neil quickly become incredibly busy as a freelance Crew Chief and Lighting Designer for large private events, and Neil inevitably accepted a job as a Project Manager for a major events company.

Having decided to move back out into the freelance world, for a more varied career path, Neil began working for Concert/Touring lighting companies, mainly as a Dimmer/Mains Technician, and an occasional Crew Chief or Lighting Programmer/Operator. Before long, Neil was recommended to light his first tour, which was highly complimented. From this tour, recommendations came thick and fast, and Neil continues to light a variety of bands and artists; including Pop Groups/Artists, Rock Bands, Indie Bands, Alternative Music, Electro, Metal, Progressive Rock and DJ's - working on all levels.

Neil also frequently works on festival stages as 'House LD' and also as 'Cover LD'/Operator for other busy Lighting Designers.

Neil's Current Activity
Currently, Neil enjoys a varied career, working mainly within the Concert/Touring, Corporate/Conference and Events industries as a Lighting Designer/Operator. When not working as a Lighting Designer, Neil is often found on tours and events taking care of the Dimmers and Mains end of things, for which he has large amounts of experience and knowledge.

Neil's Spare Time
When not at work, Neil extends his time to listening to a variety of music, consuming fine wines, Apple Mac gadgets, and a rather expensive taste in buying fast cars!
